Kenneth Athol Webster Collection

Webster (1906-1967) was born in Wellington but migrated to Britain in 1936. After the war he bcame a collector and dealer in manuscripts fine art and artefacts of Oceania, mostly obtained in Britain. He believed Maori artefacts should be repatriated to New Zealand. Many items in New Zealand museums were provided by him as a dealer. His collection was offered to the New Zealand Government but declined.
