Tauwhare Museum was one of the local museums featured on Heritage Rescue - a TV series on Choice TV.
The museum collection is mostly relatively recent material but included is some older material and some archaeological finds. One feature are parts of WW2 aircraft recovered from the remnants of the Rukuhia aircraft dump.
