Scott Pilkington

At the end of this semester Scott will complete a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in History and Anthropology at the University of Auckland and has already applied for Bachelor of Art (honours) for 2009 in anthropology specialising in biological anthropology. He is still working part-time towards a Bachelor of Science with double specialisions in ecology and geography and intends to enrol in a Master of Arts in anthropology specialising in arhcaeology in 2010. He intends to specialise in bioarchaeology, specifically morphological indicators of habitual activity but also on the archaeology of human remains so may also enrol in the Post-Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science offered at the University of Auckland.

Scott is currently one of only a handful of people to have ever written anything on the Albert Park Tunnels. Intends to work at the dig when the Art Gallery expands into Albert Park.

Also rings church bells and handbells at Saint Matthews-in-the-city, dances international ballroom (has recently completed the Bronze Medal in International Ballroom with honours and will start the Silver Medal in 2009) and is interested in historic archaeology, bioarchaeology and palaeoreconstructions.

Scott has published an article on the Albert Park Tunnels in Archaeology in New Zealand and gave a public lecture on the history, siginificance and heritage of the tunnels which was hosted by the West Auckland Historical Society who have also invited him to publish a second article.

Scott currently works as a Student Advisor at the Arts Student Centre, Faculty of Arts, University of Auckland.
