At the end of 2008 Scott completed a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in History and Anthropology at the University of Auckland. He is completing part-time a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Geography and Ecology and is completing full-time his Bachelor of Art (Honours) in Anthropology in Biological Anthropology. He is also completing part-time with the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand the level 5 Diploma in Library and Information Studies.

Scott has published an article on the Albert Park Tunnels in ''Archaeology in New Zealand'' and gave a public lecture on the history, siginificance and heritage of the tunnels which was hosted by the West Auckland Historical Society who have also invited him to publish a second article.
