Archaeology has inspired some New Zealand art.

Carol Fletcher is a Raglan based artist who works with found objects - the sort of items that archaeologists conserve from sites, which she displays in the form of arrays or organised series as if they were being formally classified. Brown (2009:128) notes her training is in mathematics and anthropology but not archaeology. An example of her work can be seen here.
