Ken was a long term resident of Kawerau working in mid managment in the local paper mill. He had an intense interest in the history of the Bay of Plenty and was very active in researching and writing about its archaeology. He was a long term filekeeper for the district and built up the numbers of sites in the Bay of Plenty file to one of the largest in new Zealand. Much of the recording was his own.

Kenneth (Ken) Walter Moore 1926-2006

Ken was a long term resident of Kawerau working in mid managment in the local paper mill. He had an intense interest in the history of the Bay of Plenty and was very active in researching and writing about its archaeology. He was a long term filekeeper for the district and built up the numbers of sites in the Bay of Plenty file to one of the largest in new Zealand. Much of the recording was his own.

He was active in the Whakatane District Historical Society and published much of the outcomes of his research in its "Historical Review". The strength of the local sociey and its museum owes much to him.

Ken was associated with Alan Pullar in some of his fieldwork.
