V. (Vic) F. Fisher -1983
Vic Fisher was for many years the ethnologist at Auckland Museum serving initialy as assistant from 1930 then as ethnologist from 1936 until retirement in 1968. He had a founding role in the New Zealand Archaeological Association, serving on its first council and as President from 1956 to 1958. In the 1950s he was deputy chair of the Historic Places Trust. He undertook some minor excavations which were published by others (Nicholls 1964). His Oruarangi publications were his greatest contribution.
