Summary

Cloughlogo.jpg

R10/80 was probably a small fishing settlement at the Whangaparoa. Site consisted of a number of large areas of shell midden overlying a range of postholes indicative of a number of small structures. The shell was rich in charcoal and widespread. Main features include a possible pit/house structure in Area A with a drain that was probably stone-lined. Additional small storage pits were also cut into the dense clay.
